Hairong and Sampson now Hitched!
I photographed Hairong and Sampson's ceremony on Friday at the San Francisco City Hall on Friday. What an amazing backdrop! They had their ceremony in Palo Alto the following Sunday. It was a "Chinese Style" reception, and there were 10 courses of food! All good mind you :) I had an absolute blast photographing this couple. As a side note, Sampson seems to be quite the photographer himself, they had a book at the reception filled with pictures that he took of Hairong and himself. Very impressive!
Here are some of my favorite shots and at the end is the video (again, forgive the quality as my blog only allows small file sized videos).

Danica and Justins Wedding
http://www.adamtylerphotography.com/
Wow! You know, sometimes it's just obvious when two people belong together. Danica and Justin just fit. Take a look at the pictures of them together, even people who don't know them would be convinced. I had a blast shooting their wedding. Things turned out great! Here is their video that I created today. Ya, day after the wedding, and it's up. Can't accuse me of being patient but I was just THAT excited about it! And no, this will not be the norm!
Please Note that the quality of this video is all that this blog can handle.

Danica and Justin's Portrait Session
So, Danica and Justin needed a portrait for their guestbook signing table at their upcomming wedding. So, we went to a nice park in Rocklin Ca. to make it happen. What an easy couple to photograph, talk about layed back!
I like this close up shot a lot. It's the one they chose for the table.
One of the things I liked about this park was all the tree's. I wanted to get a shot that showed them in the environment.
This location in the park was Danica's idea. I love it when the clients add input! Thanks Justin for puttin up with that dirty bridge!
I really like this shot as well. The lighting add's a lot to the over all feeling. I'll be shooting their wedding on Saturday, can't wait!

Portrait Session, Shanti Elizabeth Brodnick
We went to American Legion Park, which happens to be right by my house. I usualy poke fun at photographers that barely leave the circle around their house but hey, sometimes it just works. It was truly hard for me to pick out my favorite shots as a lot of them turned out very well.

Changed my mind!
Ok...so, I have changed the name of the business. It's now Adam Tyler Photography. Couple reasons, I found out after I chose the original name, Exposures Photoraphy that there was already a Exposures Professional Photography in Sacramento, and the more I think about it, I am marketing ME, so what better to name the company right?
So, with that change comes another. Rumaging through my cellar, I found a bag full of NEGATIVES!! I couldn't believe my eyes, but sitting there were over 300 rolls of film from my past life. Mind you, not every roll I ever shot at a wedding, but 300 none the less. I knew from this I could scrounge up at least a few decent shots, right?
I called a friend who I knew had a negative scanner, and quickly set to work scanning, and scanning, and, you guessed it, scanning negatives. Now, these negatives had weathered the great basement flood, so they were DIRTY. Let me tell you how much cleaning up in Photoshop I had to do...
Ok..so all said and done, I found over 70 images I fealt were good enough to show! So, the next big change. All that hard work I put into that website? All for not! I found a way better solution, and it looks a lot more professional. Of course, having the images at a good screen resolution helps, too!
The web address will match the company name, an added bonus to the whole thing. So, http://www.adamtylerphotography.com/. Be sure to check in soon as it will be going live in the next couple of day. Ok, I'm off, got a fishing trip tomorrow morning, gonna catch a big un.

Here I go again....
www.exposurespro.com
I will be shooting weddings in Northern California, from the Greater Sacramento area to the Bay area! Of course that will be my concentration, but I will also be shooting portraits, especially of kids. So if your looking for a wedding photographer or portrait photographer in the area, please visit my website. Here’s a little back story of how I got to where I am today…For awhile I’ve been thinking to myself “I miss taking pictures, especially weddings”. Doing the work that I am doing (training work for Canon) I run into my fair share if professional photographers. Each time I do it just reminds me of how much I miss actually being behind the lens in that fashion. Sure, I never quit taking pictures (something would definitely be wrong with me if I did!), but not in the aspect of creating something for a client. I really miss that aspect of being creative, processing my work, and coming up with an end product that I know people will be excited and happy with. So, one day I just decided to make it happen. I remember a long time ago, when I ran my business back in the Washington D.C. area, I used a program called Swish to make a website for my company. So, back to the drawing board. One problem….due to a series of unfortunate decisions and events, I don’t have any real images from all the different things I’ve photographed in my “past” life! I either left behind or threw away a lot of stuff that I should have kept. The little I did keep was stored in the basement of my first house in Oakland, where I was to learn all about Northern California’s “winters” of non-stop rain. What happened was my basement flooded, and sure enough what was left of my “portfolio” was ruined. Not a single image could be kept! So essentially that part of my life was washed away (literally!).Well, I was a little lucky to find scraps left on CD, mind you VERY low resolution of some random images that I might be able to salvage at least on my website. My first step was to produce my website, which I did. It’s not exactly what I want, but it’s a decent start. Here is a screen shot:
Next came choosing a domain name. Wow! If you have ever tried to register a domain name using common words, then you know (like I do now) that they are ALL taken! The closest I could come up with to my company name (Exposures Photography) was exposurespro.com. Not my first choice, nor my second, but it will work for me I think. I was extremely proud of myself for designing and launching my website. It meant I was THAT much closer to accomplishing something that I always knew I could do.I made my business website, next my business cards, and a whole slew of other material for my business. That part comes easy for me, but how do I book clients for a wedding in November? How do I book weddings when I have so little to show perspective clients that I am an extremely capable photographer? Well, I’m now searching for weddings that I will shoot for free (yes, i know, it’s a GOOD price!). But not just any wedding of course, I need the wedding to have your standard wedding moments, i.e. contain all those moments so that I can capture them and create my wedding album samples and of course, more material to put on my websiteOh ya! I’ve already got one couple, Danica and Justin of Rocklin California. I’m excited to shoot their wedding on November 29th. I’ve also been contacted by another couple however their wedding date is just too far away. But it’s happening, slowly but surely. I’ll be up to my neck in weddings here soon! So, welcome to my blog, where I will be ranting and raving about all my dealings with starting and running my company.
